Abstract

This is a brief account of the therapeutic measures offered by rehabilitation medicine as part of the specialized palliative medicine treatment in patients with chronic progressive disease who have a poor vital prognosis and an uncertain restorative prognosis. This treatment intends to maintain the best possible quality of life for the patient and his caregivers during the evolving phases of disease including terminal stage.
