The patient, the physician, and the lawyer
Abstract
New trends in the physician – patient relationship have made a new character appear who frequently plays the role of a third person involved in this relationship and one that always disagrees. It seems as if the logic of the good Samaritan would have been affected by the own secrets of the man of law.
The author points out this situation and claims for an ethic of responsibility among the different actors. This requires reciprocal information and previous and common consentment; in other words, a meaningful relationship.
