Controversies over men and their dignity
Abstract
The tradition of philosophical Anthropology presents, through various authors, numerous arguments attempting to show a person’s dignity as being tautological. Examples of this are liberty, love, altruism, self- conscienceness, creativeness, and the possibility of communicating with our fellow-creatures by means of language, among others. The author proposes these arguments as background to the emergence of many practices which threaten one’s singularity, autonomy, and in the end one’s dignity.
