About cloning. Why wouldn´t I allow myself to be cloned?
Abstract
The possibility of human cloning seems to be moving away from the terrain of science fiction and it is becoming a fact laden whit bioethical considerations. Some of these are looked at by Dr. Pablo Arango in this article in which he also gives a brief history of the process and a definition of cloning.
The value and the respect that life and human beings deserve implies that their dignity be respect, although at times there exists the temptation to utulise science for one’s own benefits. Again it is worth remembering that everything that is possible at a technical level is not necessarily ethical.
Cloning is the Frankensteinian exaltation of creating human life and controlling its destiny in an ever-increasing way. Its is man playing at being God.
