Abstract

This paper deals with the terminal patient's care that includes psychosocial attention, the corresponding specific care provided to this type of patients and the organization of continuous care at home an at specialized centers. Such care is an alternative solution to Euthanasia which is seen as a homicide by the author. This paper also refers to the problem whose approval can cause to physicians.

Author Biography

Guillermo Ochoa Millán, Centro de Estudios e Invetigaciones de Bioética

Médico anestesiólogo durante 15 años, en el Hospital de Especialidades del Centro Médico de la Raza IMMS en la Universidad Autónoma de México. Estudió Bioética en el Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones Bioéticas, ha hecho cursos en Consultoría en Orientación familiar y estudios de filosofía en la Universidad Panamericana de Guadalajara.

Inició sus estudios de doctorado en Medicina Pamplona en 1986, defendiendo la tesis doctoral en 1991 con el título de "La Bioética secular de H.T. Engelhardt: análisis y crítica". Desde 1991 es profesor de  Deontología Farmacéutica en la Facultad de Farmacia, y de cuestiones de Bioética en La Licenciatura Moral de la Facultad de Teología. Secretario del Departamento de Bioética, Universidad de Navarra.
