The challenge of bioethics
Abstract
Anthropology is considered as a leading knowledge field. This means that we need to know what man is in order to understand what he does -operari sequitur ese- and be aware of the respect that his inviolable dignity deserves and of his excellence as a human being. That´s the reason why Bioethics demands a definition of how man's life is - what does the person mean? What are value and dignity? - in order to rigorously establish his moral constitution. In the light of these ideas, the insufficiency of the definitions proposed by contemporary well-Know Bioethical professionals is examined and a new definition is proposed -do justice to life- based on the idea of man as a personal and dignified being.
