Abstract

Since the eighteen century, a new dualist trend has emerged in the health sciences towards a more mathematical vision of reality. Themodel is not new at all. What is new is the real possibility of applying it to human beings through biotechnology.

A mathematical and molecular view of the human body makes it possible to create ideal models that can enable real action andchanges; that is, truly new modifications to human corporeality. The will of the physician as a creator, not just as a palliative agentin the face of destiny, is a very difficult temptation to overcome in representing the limits of knowledge.
