This is a reflective paper introducing the factors that affect families who have terminally ill patients. It is the result of professional experience and a literature review. The following influencing factors were identified: economic, social, emotional and spiritual. The support of the health team should be directed towards each of these factors in an effort to heighten the family’s awareness of the fact that they have a loved one who is in the final stage of life, so the patient can be cared for in the best possible way.Downloads
